Try This! Tuesday

I hereby promise to be a better blogger.  I really have a good reason, I promise.  My reason for not blogging is three fold.
1. Blogger has not been letting me upload pictures.  Why, I do not know.
2.  Greg is both researching and writing his senior thesis paper this semester (this is usually done in two semesters) so he takes over the office every night leaving me high and dry with no computer.
3. During the day I am either chasing a little boy around the house, or recovering from chasing a little boy around the house and spending time on the computer doesn't sound as appealing as sitting on the couch.  There, I said it.  I'm lazy.

Balsamic Chicken, Spinach, and Tortellini Salad
Since it is Tuesday and all, I thought I would share a new recipe that you should all try.  My sister-in-law made this amazing main-dish salad when we visited a few months ago. I have been craving it ever since.  I vaguely remembered her saying that she found the recipe on pinterest, so I started to search. And guess what?  I found it!  I have made it a few times for our small family and I can never get enough.

Click here for the recipe.  Enjoy!

Try This! Tuesday: Creamy Cucumbers

Alright, alright, its Wednesday.  But hey, at least I'm posting SOMETHING on here!
I did not weigh myself today because truthfully, I know I have gained a pound or two and I just don't want to make it real by seeing it on the scale.  But I promise, I will weigh in next week.

The following is a delightful little snack that I had today.  It is SO easy to make and really satisfying and delicious.

Creamy Cucumber Slices

Here is what you need:
\
- 1/2 of a cucumber, sliced (I found the thicker the slices, the better)
- 2 Tbs fat-free cottage cheese
- 1 Tbs fat-free sour cream (I didn't have fat free, so I just used regular)
- Ground black pepper

The How-To:
Take your cottage cheese, sour cream and a little bit of pepper and mix it together.  You can also add 1 tbs chives.  I didn't have any, but wish I did! Spread the mixture onto your cucumber slices and top with a little more black pepper.
please don't judge me for my HORRIBLE picture-taking skills.

Voila!
Easy peasy and so yummy!

Try this! Tuesday

Hello! This post is for all of you peanut butter lovers out there! I want to introduce you to Justin's Nut Butter(I know, the name kills me too!)

This nut butter comes in small convenient packages- perfect to take to work, on a hike, etc...

I like to combine mine with celery for a tasty treat high in protein.

Justin's Nut Butter can be found at Walmart and I'm sure several grocery stores.

Enjoy!

"Try This" Tuesday!

If you run, jog, or walk for regular exercise, this is a great app to have on your phone!

Map My Run uses GPS to track your route and tell you how far you have gone and what your current and average pace is.  I. Love. It.  I always like to set goals for myself while working out.  Such as, running for three songs straight before stopping to walk, or shaving one minute off my previous time.  This is perfect for that because I can track my time and know if I am going faster or slower than before.  The latest version also has a nice lady who gives you an update after every mile.  She tells you how many miles you have run and what your average speed is.

There is also a nutrition tab that lets you track your food, but I prefer the Lose It app for that.

Thanks for letting me share, now go ahead and try it!
p.s. based on the picture, aren't you dying to try ninja royale?  I here its the new farmville.
