I'm Doin' It!

Okay, so today's "try this tuesday" is something I am going to try myself for the next 30 days.  

Confession:  I have had this DVD for the past year but have never made it through 30 consecutive days. I would usually just pick one of the workouts to do on a day where I didn't make it to the gym

Confession #2:  I tried the easiest workout yesterday, and about died.  I don't remember it ever being this hard!  How am I going to ever make it to level 3?

Wednesday Weigh-in

Well, I'm down another pound! That actually surprised me because I've eaten so much crap this past week! And, I bruised my medial meniscus in my knee so I haven't been able to exercise. But, I'm back and ready to make this next week my you-know-what.

I have a really hard time staying on track, what keeps you eating right??

Try this! Tuesday

Hello! This post is for all of you peanut butter lovers out there! I want to introduce you to Justin's Nut Butter(I know, the name kills me too!)

This nut butter comes in small convenient packages- perfect to take to work, on a hike, etc...

I like to combine mine with celery for a tasty treat high in protein.

Justin's Nut Butter can be found at Walmart and I'm sure several grocery stores.

Friday Favorite

Hey everyone,  I know I'm a day late with my Friday Favorite, but I've come to realize that I'm late to everything now that I have a child.

Anyway, my first favorite thing is the Old Navy GoDry athletic line.  The shirts and tanks fit really well and really do keep dry!  Plus, they are usually 2 for $20- score!

"Try This" Tuesday!


If you run, jog, or walk for regular exercise, this is a great app to have on your phone!

Map My Run uses GPS to track your route and tell you how far you have gone and what your current and average pace is.  I. Love. It.  I always like to set goals for myself while working out.  Such as, running for three songs straight before stopping to walk, or shaving one minute off my previous time.  This is perfect for that because I can track my time and know if I am going faster or slower than before.  The latest version also has a nice lady who gives you an update after every mile.  She tells you how many miles you have run and what your average speed is.

There is also a nutrition tab that lets you track your food, but I prefer the Lose It app for that.

I'm BAAAAACK!!!!!

Why hello there.
After many long months, plenty of swelling, oh so many pizzas, 63 pounds, and one miracle later...
I am back. 
Woo hoo!

By the way, here is the miracle I am referring to.
Meet Rees.
Aka: the most amazing little boy I have ever laid eyes on. 

I absolutely love being a mama. I absolutely hate the extra weight I am carrying around.

So, I'm trying to get back on track.  23 pounds seems almost impossible.  I have never needed to lose this much weight before and it just looks so daunting. 

I began running again this week (8.8 miles last week, go me!) and it didn't kill me!  This week I am going to start eating right.  

Here is my plan:
-Cut out fast food.  If I need to eat it then I should stick to grilled chicken sandwiches and no fries!  Seriously, no fries!  I can do hard things!
- No soda.  I was so great at this before the pregnancy, but I completely tanked when all that would settle my stomach was ginger ale or berry 7up.  
-Sugar is going to be a long lost friend.  Well, its going to be one of those friends I only see on the weekends.  And for a short amount of time.  I know I can't cut it out completely but I need to set restrictions.  So, if I have been good all week I'll reward myself with a sweet treat on the weekend. 
-Eat something green every night with dinner.  I am SO bad at this and its sad because I really do love veggies.

-Friday Favorites:  I will post anything I love this day.  It can be health related or not, its my choice :)
